Electrox sees the return of the newly improved Raptor laser, the company’s entry-level galvo-based laser marker, combined with a new, improved workstation set-up.
Design modifications have made the Raptor even more robust, while it is now paired with the new EMS100 to ensure that customers can balance the need for cost-effective laser marking technology without compromising on quality and precision.
Electrox says that the Raptor and EMS100 combination is the ideal solution for customers needing to permanently mark metals and plastics quickly, accurately and affordably.
In particular, the company anticipates strong demand from companies engaged in high value, low volume manufacturing where traceability and identification of parts is essential, such as in automotive, medical, pharmaceutical, aerospace and general engineering industries.
The Raptor is designed with the user in mind. It features an EF Technology laser and can permanently mark 1,000 characters per second with an accuracy of five microns. This means it produces high quality marks of extremely good legibility and because the laser changes the colour of the material, marks won’t fade or rub off in even the most testing of conditions.
The new EMS100 Workstation features a lift-up door, laser safe viewing window and fume extraction port ensuring the whole marking process is safe. The Scriba programming software is Windows compatible enabling the Raptor laser to be programmed via a computer, thus offering exceptional control, flexibility and accuracy. This enables a wide range of different marks to be produced including barcodes, two dimensional codes such as Data Matrix, date coding and automatic serialisation.
Both the Raptor and EMS100 are extremely easy to use with the minimum of training. As well as increasing efficiency, laser marking is extremely cost effective thanks to low operating costs because there are no inks, acids, or solvents to handle and store, and there is no tooling to wear out or consumables to replace.
Electrox was founded 30 years ago and is part of the world-renowned 600 Group PLC. The company manufactures a wide variety of fully-integrated laser marking solutions, which use an intense beam of light to permanently engrave or mark a material’s surface. Its systems are fast, extremely easy to use and very cost effective, because there are no components to wear or run out.
Electrox lasers offer a wide range of applications including ablation and coating removal such as for automotive displays, coding for traceability and identification, authentication and labelling and for decorative design and personalisation. |
